Post-Hospital Care
Our Short-term Rehabilitation Program Offers Several Services To Help You Recover As Quickly As Possible.
Physical, Occupational, And Speech Therapy
Physical Therapy
Physical injury or surgery requires time to heal. Our staff closely monitors our rehabilitation patients and their progress. Once healing has progressed, specific exercises are required to heal properly. Hillside Medical Lodge has on-staff physical therapists who are trained to ensure that physical therapy is done properly and efficiently in our therapy room.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy revolves around how an injury affects your daily life. Some injuries can cause significant change in daily routine and activity. Occupational therapy seeks to modify or change aspects of your daily routine and activities so that your quality of life is maintained.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy covers speaking and language difficulties. Neurological diseases and trauma can cause speech difficulty. Our speech therapists are experienced in this field and can help you overcome these obstacles.
Wound Care
Our wound care nurse tends to residents’ wounds to relieve pain and ensure they are properly cleaned so healing occurs as quickly as possible. Chronic, non-healing wounds require great care to ensure they don’t affect quality of life and lead to infection.
IV Therapy
Intravenous (IV) care is an important component of any hospital treatment, as it keeps patients hydrated on top of other health benefits. IV Therapy is available in both short and long-term care options.
Hydrocollator
Hydrocollators are specialized heating devices that heat up special packs of water, and then applied to various parts of the body to relieve pain and relax the muscles.
Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy is more or less the opposite to the hydrocollator. It utilizes cold compresses and devices to relieve everything from pain to swelling. Cryotherapy can be anything from a simple ice pack to an ice bath.
Wii-Hab and Xbox Kinect
Representing some of the latest forms of therapy, these services utilize the Wii and Xbox gaming consoles with motion control to help in physical therapy. Gaming adds a level of fun to your rehabilitation and can make physical therapy enjoyable.
Diabetes Management and Education
Diabetes is a serious condition, but with knowledge and regulation, it can be managed. We have methods available to help our diabetic residents. Our staff will also instruct you on how best to manage your needs post-rehab.
